2012 has been a surprising year of change for us and has been jam packed full of things to be thankful for.

As busy and stressful as life can be at times, when I take a moment to breath and look back.. It’s truly amazing how rich and full our lives really are.

First of all, we had a wonderful wedding season!  We were busy almost every weekend over the spring, summer, and fall and each one was incredible to be a part of!

It was a little bit different for me this year though, because as the summer went on, I was less and less able to hide a noticeable new bump…

In the Spring Shaun and I found out we would be starting the biggest adventure of our lives so far… we are thrilled to be starting our own family this December!!  :D  Baby Scade is going to be the first on both of  sides of the family.  Its going to be a wonderful and exciting Christmas.

To add to our good luck this year, half way through our wedding season, a new job opportunity came up for Shaun.  He applied and beat out some stiff competition to become the new instructor in NAIT’s Photographic Technology program.  He’s come into the program at an exciting time as they are revamping the structure of each class and making some big changes for students.  Shaun now gets paid to do photography research, as well as teach what he loves and is naturally already so good at doing!  He’s been enjoying teaching full time now since the beginning of the school year.

This was something we hadn’t planned for, and has added quite a lot to our plates over the past few months, as our wedding season was still in full swing when the position started.  We’re SO THANKFUL for all of our clients who’ve been understanding with us!  Everything is wrapping up nicely now, and we’re almost ready with everyone’s weddings..now if only I could get some personal photography projects finished before the baby comes..

Before the snow came, we snuck in a mini maternity session with our talented friend Andrea, who took some amazing images for us.  The session was a really nice way to celebrate what we’ve done together and show off a little before the baby takes over everything. I love how these pictures are filled with warmth and smiles.. It really portrays how we’re feeling about having a baby.

I wasn’t sure what to expect while being pregnant, and it took me a while to actually accept the fact that we were actually having a baby to sink in…  and to accept the fact that I should probably stop playing soccer and volleyball once I was showing. But as the 9 months have gone by, I’ve been amazed at how incredible the process is and how naturally talented our bodies are.  Its fun to be proud of my body, and proud of how big it is getting. Its not every day a girl smiles while pushing out her gut.  Haha.

*** We wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be changing things up a little in the new year.***

As of next week we’ll be slowing down quite a bit, finishing up our current clients orders before the holidays, and then taking some time off to relax and fit in as much cuddle time as possible for the next couple of months.

Blogging will be slowing down, and we’ll be accepting portrait sessions again later into the new year.

If you’d like to have a print order taken care of and ready for Christmas (prints/canvases/Holiday Cards), we’ll need to have it placed by November 23rd.   

You will still be able to reach us by phone or email, it just might take us a little longer to get back to you.

Also, we are still accepting a handful of more weddings for 2013, but will be capping off the number of weddings and portraits we accept to ensure that everyone receives the best possible Scade Family service we can provide!

Thank you for all of the good wishes we’ve received already from so many of you!  We’re pretty excited about what 2013 will bring!
