Michelle and Bryce – Edmonton Winter Engagement session

Michelle and Bryce met up with us last month for their winter engagement session. We had to scout for a location that still had some snow sticking around in Edmonton, but we found some, we found enough that there was even enough for a snowball fight. They were tons of fun to photograph; fun and sweet and up for everything. We’re definitely looking forward to their wedding this summer.

Nicole and Michael – Engagement Photography Edmonton

Nicole contacted us about photographing her upcoming winter wedding after finding out about us online, and by sheer coincidence it turned out her sister was a good friend of my sister! As soon as we met with her we knew her wedding was going to be a blast. The way she talked about Michael, and their wedding plans would make anyone excited for them.

Nicole is so creative! She handcrafted and recreated an amazing paper backdrop with her sister and sister in law after being inspired from something she found online. It was gorgeous. It had this airy, fun and romantic feel to it that worked so well with the vibe she and Michael give off. They have so much fun together and were incredibly easy to photograph.

After spending some time indoors we headed out for some snowy winter engagement pictures too. Using one of the only places left in Edmonton that has snow on the ground still.

Edmonton Child Photography – Lanna and Mataya

I first met Lanna when we worked together at MIRA what seems a very long time ago. A lot has changed since then, and she currently has an awesome daughter named Mataya. We went to the park where we had a chance to get some images of the two of them together, and of Mataya alone. It was a very windy day and Mataya was fantastic throughout the entire session. Introducing Lola – Edmonton Newborn Photography

Mike and Lindsey are the two proud new parents of little miss Lola. She took her time coming to meet us all, but when she finally did it was worth the wait. She was a perfect little 8lbs, 5oz bundle and 22 inches of sweetness!

With parents who like to travel as much as Mike and Lindsey, Lola is sure to have more than a few adventures under her belt before she’ll even be able to walk.

Meet Pauline. Gorgeous inside and out – Portrait Photography Edmonton

When Pauline emailed me about having a portrait session done for her self, I was thrilled. She wanted to give treat herself and I thought it was a wonderful idea. Fall is one of her favorite times of year and she thought it would be a fun way to capture this chapter of her life. She’d just celebrated her birthday and had started a new job. But the main reason I was thrilled, was because Pauline is truly an amazing person and I was excited to be able to do this for her. She has a huge heart, and its made of pure gold.

I’ve only just met Pauline this past summer, but already she’s left a beautiful impression on my life. She’s bright, friendly, gorgeous, and has an enormous amount of contagious positivity!

She’s now working for the Multicultural Coalition in Edmonton as an Associate Coordinator. Somewhere I know she’ll make another beautiful impression.

Edmonton Engagement Photography – Simon and Courtney

Simon and Courtney are getting married next year. He proposed in the winter at the Alberta Legislative Grounds near the Christmas tree, so we went there for their engagement session. It was a lovely fall evening and the sun was very cooperative, but when it came down to it, it was all about this great couple. Simon and Courtney are using some of these pictures for something interesting in the coming months and hopefully we will get a chance to show it off later. The Hart Family – Edmonton Family Photography

Kim’s family was finally all together this past Thanksgiving weekend and they decided to use the opportunity to update their family pictures! We met up with them at Hermitage Park, in our gorgeous river valley knowing it still had an abundance of fall leaves we’d be treated to. Turns out we were also treated to a full hour of laughter. This family was awesome! There was non stop teasing, and ridiculousness. We loved it. Even with all the teasing, it was easy to see how much they appreciated and loved each other. They were easy to photograph as a result.

Elizabeth and Jeremiah – Jasper Engagement Photography

What better place to be than in the mountains for an engagement session. We met up with Jeremiah and Elizabeth in Jasper last week expecting to use its Autumn colours to our full advantage. The weather didn’t cooperate 100%, but we made the best of it and still had a great time. How could you not when you’re hanging out with these two? Jeremiah’s past Jasper stories and Elizabeth’s expressions as she watched him share them were priceless. We had a blast hanging out with them for the weekend, and exploring all of the beauty Jasper has to offer. The colours in the mountains almost looked like they were painted on a canvas. Here are a few images of the lovely couple and of the mountain area.

Sherwood Park Family Photography – The Witten-Land Family

It is obvious that Steph is Beautiful!!! I am blatantly biased, but it is true. She also comes from a very attractive family that specializes in making ridiculously adorable kids. A few years ago, when she was starting out, we did a session with her cousin and it won Steph her first award. This fall, we did a session with Julie and Cam, another of Steph’s Cousins. They have 2 of the cutest kids ever. Amadeus and Nova were extremely easy to photograph, especially in the lovely fall colours of their acreage. Nova was very playful throughout the session and Amadeus was all smiles, dances, and giggles (despite having his first cold). Julie had an amazing chair she wanted to use, a neighbours truck and a few other ideas, but all we needed was this awesome family.

The Chow Family – Edmonton Family Photographers

This Family was awesome. Inside and out. We had a great afternoon taking photographs of these ridiculously cute boys and their parents. Shaun had a chance to photograph Hugo when he was just a baby, but now he’s a a big brother to Javier! Hugo had an endless amount of energy, he’d stop for brief moments to squeeze in a hug for Javier, but other than that he was on the go. He’s lucky to have such easy going parents.

Emerson turns ONE! – Edmonton Lifestyle Photographers

We were lucky enough to be invited to photograph Emerson celebrating his first birthday in the Hundred Acre Woods. He was surrounded by all of his family, along with Christoper Robin and Winnie the Pooh! Piglet’s in a blanket were served, along with Eeyore’s tail cookies, and an amazing birthday cake made by Amanda! Emerson was adorable. He wanted nothing to do with diving into his piece of cake. He continually threw it on the floor. Opening his presents on the other hand… he was all over! He even hugged some of them he’s amazing! Just like his parents, our friends Amanda and Matt.

Outdoor Boudoir Photography – T

As photographer’s we find it important to get on the other side of the camera a few times ourselves. We value the significance of the session and the images, and we also get to experience it from a different perspective. Steph and our friend T did a boudoir session swap. Steph had her session done in the same hotel that we holiday’d the week after our wedding, and we chose to do an outdoor boudoir session.

We woke extremely early to prepare for this. It was during the Edmonton Folk Music Festival so we were all very tired. But we knew that the beautiful morning light would be well worth the effort. There is something special about morning light. It has this really ethereal quality to it. The large majority of our sessions are evening sessions because the light is at best when it is near sunset or sunrise, and really, it’s a lot easier than 530 in the morning. So, it was a treat to use the morning light, and we were also lucky to get a little bit of fog rolling off of the river.

Outdoor Boudoir sessions are less common than their indoor counterparts because there are so many variables, and it is a lot less private. But it can definitely be a great option for the brave and those that are looking for something a little bit different.

Laura and Matt – Edmonton Engagement Photographers

Last week Laura and Matt invited us to Matt’s parent’s acreage out by Stony Plain, for their engagement session. When Laura first suggested it as a location, I had a feeling it was going to be awesome. Open fields, gorgeous skies, mixed with an abundance of tall trees and a cute, fun loving couple… We couldn’t ask for more! Unless of course we wished for a gorgeous sunset.

We first met Matt as a groomsmen in Landon and Diane’s wedding last summer. To be asked back to photograph another wedding within this group of friends is very exciting for us. The wedding is sure to be an amazing day with such a great group of people.

Matt’s parents gave us a tour of their beautiful property and started a fire for us to enjoy after the sunset. We had a great time exploring the area and getting to know Matt and Laura better. At the end of the night we had a marshmallow roast by the fire. It was the perfect way to end the night.
